With Fall in full action and Winter right around the corner, if you’re a car owner in New England then you might want to keep reading. We all know just how brutal the fall and winter months can be. Sometimes blending into what seems like, one never ending season! Now is the time to Protect Your Vehicle Against New England’s Harsh Weather Conditions.
The weather hazards can be harsh for sure but what’s even worse are the road conditions throughout this time of the year. Rainy day after rainy day, strong winds blowing all kinds of debris, snow blizzard after snow blizzard after snow blizzard… Many of us don’t realize just how brutal and contaminating these conditions can be on our cars’ paint and other surfaces.
With rain leaving etching in your car’s clear coat, sand and rocks getting kicked up from the car ahead of you on the road and colliding with your paint leaving road rash, large paint chips or worse. And the tons of salt that gets poured onto our roads to melt the ice, that gets embedded all over the vehicles surfaces.
There has got to be something you could do to protect your car from all of this happening and ruining that beautiful car that you worked so hard for in the first place. Lucky for you, there is!
Let’s take this stunning Mercedes E63 AMG Wagon for instance. The owner of this vehicle wanted to make sure he protected his investment as best as he possibly could and as soon as he purchased it. And he felt confident that Joe Nasr over at Cover Up Solution was the right man for the job. He was right 🙂
This car went through two phases of transformation. In phase one, we wrapped the entire car with XPEL STEALTH paint protection film. This is a very durable, clear film that has a satin finish to it, causing a completely new look changing the original gloss paint into a satin finish. Done by the right installer, this will look like it was painted on.
The film not only changes the overall look of the vehicle, but preserves the quality of your cars paint by reducing the risk of multiple types of damage that could occur, such as…
– scratching or chipping the paint from road debris
– swirl marks from washing
– chemical stains or etching caused by acidic contaminants
– hard water spots
– oxidation from UV exposure.
In phase one we also tinted the rear windows using a high quality nano-ceramic window film.
The window trim was wrapped in a satin black vinyl, changing the look from its original chrome finish. The rest of the chrome trim pieces were wrapped in Xpel’s stealth film…for now.
Also in phase one, every surface of this car inside and out was coated with Gtechniq Ceramic Coating. Starting with the exterior of the car, we coated the paint protection film, the glass surfaces, the wheels (both the winter and the summer wheels), the calipers, the exhaust and of course all of the trim pieces. As for the interior, we likewise coated just about every part inside including the leather seats, the doors, the center console and all interior trim pieces.
Ceramic coating will chemically bond to the surface it has been applied to and add a layer of protection and hydrophobicity. The benefit of this is that not only does the surface stay clean for longer periods of time. But because of the hydrophobic properties, it makes it harder for contaminants to chemically bond to the surface. Therefore making maintenance easier.
You’ll be cleaning less of…
– bug splatter
– bird droppings
– road tar
– brake and exhaust dust
– spills of drinks, oils or grease from dropped food
– protects against water etching
– protects against oxidation
In phase two, this car received some very nice carbon fiber upgrades. Specifically the front grille, the front lip spoiler and the front fender trim pieces. Of course those received the same type of protection as the rest of the car. Only this time the owner wanted to enhance the look of the gloss carbon fiber, so we used XPEL’s ULTIMATE film – keeping that original gloss finish.
We also changed the chrome trim pieces of the door handles, rear trunk and emblem to a satin black vinyl matching the window trim we did before.
The tail lights were smoked with a light tinted vinyl.
And then once again topped everything new with the same ceramic coating treatment.
The results… jaw dropping! Not only is this car completely protected from all that mother nature can throw at it. Allowing the customer to drive with peace of mind. But it is a work of art.
I would like to take this opportunity to show my gratitude to the owner of this vehicle. Not just for trusting me with his baby. But for sharing his vision and allowing me to express mine as well. Together we came up with an absolute masterpiece!
